Soft skills still drive hiring decisions

I am always loathe to advise young people who want specific advice as to what area they should study. We all see lots of articles predicting where the employment opportunities will be in three years, but I don’t recommend making life decisions based on this information. The hiring world is fickle and today’s newest and shiniest technology is often the butt of tomorrow’s joke.
