When to Keep Emotions in Check

Coaching sales people is a challenge. I find I work to balance critique with encouragement to keep them motivated in the face of the sometimes overwhelming number of no’s they have to field. Yet, conversations can generate emotion that can get away from the most focused manager. Best thing for me is to understand where the emotion is coming from in me so I can deal with it and put it aside so that I can be present to the person in front to me.
