PeopleScout Earns 2019 Military Friendly® Employer Designation for the Fifth Consecutive Year

CHICAGO (August 20, 2018) — PeopleScout announced today that it has been named a 2019 Military Friendly® Employer. This is the fifth consecutive year PeopleScout received the honor.

Organizations earning the Military Friendly® Employer designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 200 companies participated in the Military Friendly® Employers portion of the 2019 Military Friendly® Companies survey.

“At PeopleScout, we’re proud of our commitment to veteran hiring,” said PeopleScout President Taryn Owen. “We are driven by our mission of connecting people with meaningful work, and it is exceptionally fulfilling when we help our servicemembers transition to civilian work.”
PeopleScout is committed to hiring military talent, knowing first-hand that recruiting veterans and military spouses is not only the “right thing to do,” but the right thing for businesses. PeopleScout launched the Veteran Talent Exchange on Veterans Day 2013, which connects thousands of veterans every year to businesses with unmet hiring needs.

PeopleScout has also been named to the Military Times Best for Vets Employers 2018 rankings and is a Virginia Values Veterans (V3) Certified Company. The company also partners with Hire Heroes USA and PsychArmor Institute.

PeopleScout’s parent company, TrueBlue, was a founding member of the national advisory circle on the Veteran Employment Advisory Council, which was created in 2011. The VEAC is committed to hiring veterans and military spouses, establishing best practices for veteran employment and working with other businesses to do the same. TrueBlue is also a proud supporter of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) initiative. As a Friend of HOH, TrueBlue connects service members, veterans and military spouses with career opportunities at TrueBlue and its clients.

Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by VIQTORY, a service disabled, veteran owned small business (SDVOSB) that connects the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities, with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining an organization’s survey score with an assessment of the organization’s ability to meet thresholds for Applicant, New Hire Retention, Employee Turnover, and Promotion & Advancement of veterans and military employees.

PeopleScout will be showcased along with other 2019 Military Friendly® Employers in the December issue of G.I. Jobs® magazine, the January 2019 issue of Military Spouse Magazine, and on MilitaryFriendly.com.

PeopleScout Featured as Total Workforce Solutions Thought Leader by HRO Today

HRO Today quoted PeopleScout Global Leader of Growth and Strategy Michael Yinger in its recent article, Seeing 20/20. The article covers the growing trend toward total workforce solutions.

“A total talent strategy provides companies with a broad view of the workforce across different labor classifications and departments,” Yinger told HRO Today. “That level of visibility allows organizations to gain consolidated intelligence into their workforces and helps them evolve in the competitive talent landscape.”

PeopleScout’s Total Workforce Solutions blend MSP and RPO capabilities in one integrated program to increase efficiency and visibility into an organization’s talent acquisition program. Total Workforce Solutions take a more holistic approach to workforce planning and strategy, helping organizations reduce agency spend and improve strategic procurement to meet workforce demands.

“By evaluating the current workforce mix and costs, leaders can understand cost discrepancies through different functions of the organization,” Yinger told HRO Today. “For example, an organization may discover it has long-term contractors with bill rates that are double the cost of a permanent hire.”

Here’s an excerpt from the article:

Today’s talent ecosystem offers more options for employees than ever before. From online freelancing platforms to crowdsourcing efforts and traditional contract engagements, the contingent labor market is experiencing a revolution—and businesses are struggling to keep up.

According to Ardent Partners’ 2017-2018 State of Contingent Workforce Management study, 40 percent of today’s total global workforce is comprised of non-employee talent and that number is only expected to rise. However, 68 percent of this talent is unaccounted for in the average organization’s budgeting, planning, and forecasting.

How can companies seize these opportunities and embrace the workforce of the future head-on? One approach is to adopt a total workforce solution (TWS).

HRO Today and PeopleScout Release Global Unemployment Report for Q1 2018

Philadelphia, PA – July 23, 2018 – SharedXpertise, publisher of HRO Today Magazine, and PeopleScout, the world’s largest RPO provider and the No. 1 Managed Service Provider on HRO Today’s MSP Baker’s Dozen Customer Satisfaction Ratings for the last two years, have partnered to release the Global Unemployment Report for the first quarter of 2018.

Global unemployment levels remain low, with 24 of 49 countries analyzed reporting levels of 5.0 percent or less, which many economists consider at or near full employment. Full employment means that unemployment has fallen to the lowest possible level without causing inflation. At the end of March, unemployment in the United States held steady at 4.1 percent for the sixth consecutive month. By comparison, unemployment rates were reported as 4.2 percent in the United Kingdom, 3.9 percent in China and 3.5 percent in Germany.

“Economic growth for the first quarter of 2018 has been geographically broad, with growth rates rising in more than half of the world’s economies,” said Larry Basinait, vice president of market research at SharedXpertise. “The global growth rate for 2018 is projected to be 3.1 percent, up slightly from 2017, and is being driven by increased investment, higher inventory turn rates and strengthening demand.”

The report also analyzes the relationship between education level and employment status. “The unemployment rate of a population often significantly drops as education levels increase,” Mr. Basinait notes. “In fact, data reveals that on average, the unemployment rate of the least educated populations is nearly three times higher than the most educated groups. This information can help employers plan recruitment strategies based on the countries in which they operate and the skill levels required.”

PeopleScout featured as Veteran Hiring Expert

PeopleScout’s Military Relations Manager Carl Vickers was recently featured in the Ready to Work Business Collaborative (RTWBC) webinar “The Talent Advantage: Untapping your talent pipeline with a Veteran solution” to share his veteran hiring expertise.

Vickers was on a panel that included Jason Cameron of Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Jim Beamesderfer of Prudential and Ed Parry of Workforce Opportunity Services. The panel covered a variety of veteran hiring issues including how to translate veteran skills to match those needed for private sector employment, what the talent landscape looks like for veteran candidates and the barriers that exist for military spouses who are looking for employment.

“Military spouses are eager to be part of the workforce,” Vickers said. “They are just a huge asset. They are overlooked. So, the conversation with the hiring manager starts by getting over that closed mind.”
Vickers also shared information about PeopleScout’s veteran hiring best practices.

Recently, Vickers also appeared as a guest on the Military Radio Network sharing tips for veterans transitioning to private sector employment. The Military Radio Network provides radio and podcast programs for current service members and veterans.

On the episode, Smoother Transitions for Military Families, Vickers gave advice about many of the options that military members consider after separating or retiring from the military including school, traditional employment, consulting careers and entrepreneurship and becoming a franchise owner. Vickers emphasized that the decision is important and personal for every transitioning servicemember.

Vickers says this is his biggest piece of advice for retiring servicemembers: “You’ve served for at least two decades doing what you felt you needed to do for your country. Now, you need to decide what you want to do.”

Everest Group Report: PeopleScout Acquires TMP Holdings LTD – Another Stride Forward in the Quest for Global RPO Play

Industry analyst Everest Group issued a favorable briefing on the implications of PeopleScout’s strategic acquisition of TMP Holdings LTD.

PeopleScout’s TMP acquisition achieved two primary objectives. First, it expanded PeopleScout’s global RPO capabilities and EMEA client base, team and operations. Second, the acquisition created a powerful talent advisory offering for PeopleScout’s global client base comprised of a broad array of services, including employer branding, recruitment marketing, assessment services and talent acquisition strategy.

In addition to expanding our global footprint, Everest noted that TMP offers innovative and compelling services around employer branding and talent communities, which they expect will create many synergies and complementary capabilities. In particular, Everest predicts that employer branding and other value-added services will be strengthened as a key practice.

Everest Group reports that:

“With the 2016 acquisition of Aon Hewitt’s RPO business, PeopleScout emerged as the largest RPO provider globally (based on the volume of hires managed as part of the RPO portfolio. The current acquisition will help PeopleScout in two significant ways:

  • It will bolster PeopleScout’s presence in the UK and the broader EMEA region, a region where PeopleScout currently lacks significant presence.
  • It will further expand PeopleScout’s product offerings/services portfolio, particularly that of value-added services, by strengthening its employer branding practice.

By and large, this acquisition is set to offer the momentum PeopleScout needs to emerge as a strong global player with a large footprint and considerable capabilities across geographies.”

NelsonHall Report: PeopleScout Continues Global Expansion with Acquisition of TMP Holdings

Independent industry analyst firm NelsonHall issued a positive report on the implications of PeopleScout’s strategic acquisition of TMP Holdings LTD.

The report adds, “In addition to expanding PeopleScout’s EMEA and global RPO capabilities, the acquisition adds a talent advisory offering which includes employer branding, recruitment marketing, assessment services, and talent acquisition strategy. Andrew Wilkinson, TMP CEO, will join the PeopleScout executive leadership team and report to President Taryn Owen as Group Managing Director of EMEA.”

NelsonHall also commented that PeopleScout’s global geographic expansion now places PeopleScout’s RPO contracts in more than two countries at 34 percent. This is 3 percent above its competitors that are on average at approximately 31 percent, according to NelsonHall’s proprietary RPO market analysis. This study also cites that by 2021 NelsonHall expects multi-country RPO contracts to increase to approximately 35 percent industrywide while PeopleScout is predicted to increase to 40 percent.

The report states “Already the largest RPO provider in terms of number of hires (approximately 300k annually) and the largest RPO provider in terms of revenue in N. America, this acquisition makes PeopleScout one of the major RPO contenders in the UK, moving from approximately 20th largest in terms of revenue to approximately fifth.”
